In this chapbook, “tamarind tree” Rupa Anand celebrates the beauty of nature and our interconnectedness with all living beings. Inspired by her personal interactions with the natural world, this collection of haiku, tanka, and micro poems reflects our responsibility towards every sentient being, reiterating the ancient wisdom of Vasudheva Kutumbakam - the world as one family. Rooted in the philosophy that all living beings are part of a larger whole, “tamarind tree” invites readers to cultivate mindfulness and appreciation for those intimate moments that we share with the world around us.

Rupa Anand
Teji and I first met at the Triveni Utsav in Pune, February 2023. Then again in 2024 when she recited some fabulous poetry at a book launch in Delhi. I find her creativity, both in poetry and in design work outstanding. She has a fine eye for aesthetics and detail.
Working with Teji on the cover of my chapbook Tamarind Tree, I found her work to be gentle, original and connected to the message of caring for animals. The design is inviting, meaningful, and perfectly suited to the book’s purpose. Teji’s illustrations within the book have quietly captured the essence of my poems.
Her ability to translate ideas into appropriate visuals is impressive. I would highly recommend Teji for anyone looking for a standout design.

Triveni Haikai India is proud to have Teji Sethi as our in-house art designer, who has been instrumental in creating all our flyers and certificates. Her design sense is highly refined and subtle. A kalakar in every sense of the word, it's rare to find someone with this amount of dedication and sincerity.

Teji Sethi brought my recently published haiku book, A Peacock’s Cry – seasons of haiku, to life with her exquisite cover art. Her vision and sensitivity made the first impression of the book unforgettable, earning praise from friends and fellow poets alike. Collaborating with her was a joy, and her creativity shines in this subtle, visually appealing design.

I am deeply grateful to dear poet-friend Teji for designing this beautiful cover.
