Our Story
Founded in 2021 by three longtime friends, Triya was born from a shared vision to create a bilingual space for haiku, tanka, and other Japanese short forms, alongside micro‑poetry. We bring together voices from across the world in both English and Hindi, celebrating the art of brevity and the beauty of expression. Triya is more than a literary journal—it is a community of poets, translators, and readers united by their passion for short‑form poetry. At Triya, we believe that even the smallest verse can carry profound meaning.

vaibhav joshi
founding editor
Vaibhav Joshi’s journey began in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where his love for literature and music shaped his creative path. For nearly two decades, he has helmed Aayam Designing Cell, while simultaneously nurturing his passion for writing. Through अनकही, he has brought short, poignant verses to readers for over ten years. His commitment to poetry extends to community work, curating the Indore chapter of क से कविता. As editor of short poems for Triya, Vaibhav continues to weave words that resonate with simplicity and depth.
Founded with the vision of making global poetic traditions accessible to Hindi readers, Triya has become a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. Each edition showcases the diversity of voices and styles, while preserving the delicate brevity and depth of micro-poetry forms.
Triya is more than a journal—it is a setu between two languages. Rooted in the spirit of haikai, it honors the Japanese tradition of brevity and depth. Every translated haiku carries the heartbeat of its origin yet resonates anew in Hindi.
