Dear contributors and readers

Poetry journals, by their very nature, are labour-of-love endeavours. They often rely on the generosity and commitment of individuals who believe in the importance of poetry and literature. Triya was born out of my love for translating English Language Haiku into Hindi, giving them a wider canvas. As India's only bilingual journal, Triya distinctively translates Japanese short forms (written in English) into Hindi, fostering a cross-cultural exchange through words. Since October 2021 Team Triya has been relentlessly translating poets' works from across the world. Each submission period brings over 300 poems. Our editors spend about a month reviewing and translating, with multiple iterations per poem to ensure the best selection.

Triya's in-house editors generously donate their time and expertise to translate and curate exceptional haiku and micro poems in Hindi. While their contributions are invaluable, we now seek voluntary support from our readers, contributors, and patrons to cover basic website and operational expenses. This gesture helps sustain our motivation and keeps the journal thriving. Friends of Triya and Sponsors will find a special mention on the website.
