Kala Ramesh

Poet, editor, anthologist, and festival director, Kala Ramesh has been a prominent advocate and practitioner of haiku and related Japanese poetic forms in India, including tanka, haibun, haiga, and renku. Kala’s initiatives culminated in the founding of ‘INhaiku' in 2013, which later evolved into Triveni Haikai India in September 2021. Kala’s first book, ‘haiku!’, was published by Katha in 2010 and reprinted in 2017, and was awarded the Haiku Society of America’s best children’s book. Her second book of haiku and haibun, 'Beyond the Horizon Beyond', was shortlisted for the Tagore Literary Prize in 2019. Her third book, 'The Forest I Know', was published by HarperCollins.

Kamil Plich

Kamil Plich's haiku can be found, among others, in Frogpond, Modern Haiku, The Missing Slate, Ptenopus, Hakara, and various anthologies. He is a winner of the Haiku/Senryu Contest organised by the Austrian Haiku Society (Haiku-/Senryû-Wettbewerb der ÖHG, 2022) and the 1st runner-up of the International Haiku Contest for the Radmila Bogojević Award. He lives in Lübeck, Germany.

Kashiana Singh

When Kashiana is not writing, she lives to embody her TEDx talk theme of Work as Worship into her every day. She currently serves as poetry editor for Poets Reading the News. Her chapbook Crushed Anthills by Yavanika Press is a journey through 10 cities. She is currently knitting a new collection, Woman by the door.

Katherine E. Winnick

Katherine E Winnick is a widely published Japanese short form poet based in Brighton, UK. Katherine is also Co-Editor, Curator and Proofreader at The Wee Sparrow Poetry Press.

Kinshuk Gupta

An award-winning writer, poet, and journalist, Kinshuk Gupta works at the intersection of health, gender, and sexuality. Yeh Dil Hai Ki Chor Darwaja is his first collection of LGBT-themed short fiction, whose English translation will be published by HarperCollins in 2025.

Krzysztof Kokot

Krzysztof Kokot (born September 16, 1949, Katowice, Poland), retired pharmacist, poet, and haiku organizer. He coorganized the 2nd (2015) International Haiku Conference, Kraków, Poland, and has run the European Kukai since 2013 (together with Robert Kania). Recipient of the Grand Prize, 3rd Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award, 2013, and First Place, Setouchi Matsuyama Haiku Photo Contest (Japan, 2013), among many other awards. He has published two volumes of haiku poems: Haiku Time (2012) and Around the Haiku (2017). Honorary Member of the Polish Haiku Association. He is the initiator of the International Picture Postcard project. Since 2011 Kokot has curated “The European Top 100 most creative haiku authors” list and he is the author of the Haikupedia article on that topic. He resides in Nowy Targ, Poland.

Lakshmi Iyer

Lakshmi Iyer from Trivandrum is the co-editor of ‘amber i pause’. Her article, "Prakriti - the pulsating voice of the Gunas," can be read in One Thread: Zoka in Contemporary Haiku chosen as Best Anthology in the HSA Merit Book Awards, 2025. She is the winner of The Tejasvat Award in haikuKATHA, November 2025 for her five outstanding tanka in this issue.

Lavana Kray

Lavana Kray is from Romania. She has been nominated for Touchstone Awards 2020. The Laval Literary Society from Canada awarded her the André-Jacob-Entrevous Prize 2023, for a literary text combined with an artistic visual. She currently serves as Haiga Editor of the Cattails Review (UHTS). She is founder and editor of Our best haiga journal.

L. E. Arnott

L. E. Arnott graduated from the University of Arizona, class of 2013, with a double major in English and Creative Writing. She has an identical twin sister and she lives in Tucson, Az.

Lorelyn De la Cruz

Lorelyn De la Cruz Arevalo is a self-published Bicolana author of Twin deLights, Haikuna Matata (a haiku/haiga collection) and Hainaku! It's Pundemic! I am Balot. Acovida dito (a collection of puns and word play). Her poetry has been featured and published in anthologies and journals such as The Haiku Foundation, Failed Haiku, tsuri-doro, Spillwords, and Lothlorien Poetry Journal. She is also a member of the Write Your Legacy community in the Philippines.

Manasa Reddy Chichili

Manasa Reddy Chichili is a passionate author and poet. In her exploration of short poetry, she delved into writing haiku, before also exploring haibun, haiga, senryu, and tanka. Her works have made appearances in journals such as Haiku universe, Cold Moon Journal and Under the Basho.

Manoj Sharma

Manoj Sharma, a public accountant by profession lives in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has been published in Modern Haiku, Frogpond , Akitsu Quarterly and numerous other journals of respect.

Maria Cristina Pulvirenti

Maria Cristina Pulvirenti is an Italian poet, who lives in Catania in Sicily (Italy). She’s an English teacher in a secondary school. She has published two books of poems, titled: “E così l’ Ikebana “, a book of Japanese poems (haiku, tanka, senryu, sedoka, katauta, keiryu, baishu, bussokuseikika, choca, gogyoshi, Gogyohka, haisan, and haibun) and another titled “ Sembianze in fuga”. Her poems are published in some international esteemed magazines like Cold Moon Journal, Haikuniverse, Scarlet Dragonfly Journal, Autumn Moon Journal, Failed Haiku Journal, Shadow Pond Journal, Five Fleas Ichty Poetry Journal, and Synchronized Chaos Journal. Her poems are also published in some national anthologies, and she has received honorable mentions.

Mary Oishi

Mary Oishi, Albuquerque Poet Laureate (2020-2022) is the author of three poetry collections, most recently Sidewalk Cruiseship (University of New Mexico Press, 2024), and Editor of the 2023 New Mexico/Arizona Book Award-winning anthology: One Albuquerque, One Hundred Poets. In 2025 dozens of her poems were published in journals and anthologies in eight countries and five languages. She is currently working on a bilingual poetry collection and a memoir.

Mike Gallagher

Mike Gallagher is an award-winning Irish poet. He has been consistently named among Europe’s Top 100 haiku authors. He is much anthologised and has been translated into several languages. He is a Pushcart Prize nominee and was previously shortlisted for the Hennessy Award.

Milan Rajkumar

Milan Rajkumar is a published haikai poet who lives in Imphal, Manipur, a hilly state of India bordering Myanmar with his loving wife and two sons. An asian by look and food, he speaks ‘Meiteilon’, the tibeto-burman language. The surrounding hills, lakes, and rivers of his native place are reflected in his poems. Nowadays he writes under the mentorship of Kala Ramesh.

Mile Lisica

Mile Lisica, born on August 5, 1986 in Ključ. He spent his childhood in the village of Medna near the town of Mrkonjić. He completed the first two grades of elementary school in the village of Medna. He moved to Laktaše in 1995. He completed elementary school in Trno, and high school in construction in Banja Luka. He has been writing poetry since the fifth grade of elementary school. He published fifteen books. Of these, seven books of poetry and eight books of haiku poetry. He has also published two audio books.

Mircea Moldovan

Mircea Moldovan is 66 years old, from a small town in Romania; now living in the country. His life is divided between household chores and the study and writing of haiku and related forms. He has been writing for about four years; for him haiku has become a way of life. He has learnt the English language by himself. He intends to publish his first poetry collection soon.

Mirela Brailean

Mirela Brailean from Iasi, Romania is a member of the Romanian and French Haiku Society. She has a lot of haiku published both in the country and abroad. She is also the author of three haiku books.

Miriam Sagan

Miriam Sagan's most recent book of haiku is Border Line (Cholla Needles, 2022). She created/curated two haiku paths in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA--one at Santa Fe Community College and one at the Audubon land. She also translated/curated (with her daughter Isabel Winson-Sagan) three metal signs with a poem by Chiyo-Ni. It is now headed from the city's westside to a southside location.

Morag Elizabeth Humble

Morag Elizabeth Humble is a Canadian poet and writer who worked for thirty years in global public health. She loves to be outside in both snowy winters and hot summers, and makes her home in Ottawa.

Mona Bedi

Mona Bedi is a doctor by profession who lives in Delhi. She has been writing poetry since childhood, but a few years ago she started writing Japanese poetry - Haiku. "They, You and Me" and "Dancing Moonlight" are her published poetry collections. She lives with her husband, two children and a dog. She has won awards in many haiku competitions and has an honorable mention of her haiku at the Japan Fair 2021.

Mona Lordan

Mona Lordan at some point, rediscovered the Japanese artistic sensibility in its poetic forms, finding there a new way to relate to the world and to express herself. She began writing haiku and senryu, first in Romanian, then in English and French. Her poems have been featured in journals, reviews and anthologies internationally. She was awarded 3rd place in the 6th Haiku Contest “Cherry blossom”, Honourable Mentions in Africa Haiku Prize 2020, Yamadera Basho Memorial Museum 2020, 2023, Basho Memorial English Haiku Contest 2023, and H. Gene Murtha Memorial Senryu Contest 2023. She has been selected several times to the European Top 100 most creative haiku authors.

Monica Kakkar

Monica Kakkar (she/her/hers) values her freedom and peace and cherishes silence and solitude. She is grateful that haiku found her. She feels fortunate to belong to a global community of poets. Two of her haiku have been nominated for The Haiku Foundation's 2025 Touchstone Award for Individual Poems. A suite of haiku has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Press Awards, for poetry published in 2025. Nalini Shetty is a stay-at-home mom who lives in Mumbai. She has been exploring Japanese short forms since 2017. Her work has been appreciated by various well-known Japanese short form journals.

Nancy Brady

Nancy Brady is a pharmacist by vocation and a poet by avocation. Her main literary focus is Japanese short poetry forms with her haiku and senryu having been published in journals around the world. In 2023, she became an author of a children’s book The Adventures of Aloysius, which has subsequently been catalogued in the Library of Congress. She is interested in photography and has, for more than ten years, spent some of her free time as a volunteer at the Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Center.

Neena Singh

Neena Singh is a banker turned poet. Shortlisted for a Touchstone Award for Individual Poems in 2021, her haiku, senryu, tanka, waka, rengay, haibun, tanka prose, cherita, and haiga are regularly featured in reputed journals world-wide. Nicholas Klacsanzky

Nicholas Klacsanzky is the current haiku/senryu editor of Frogpond journal and the founder of the Haiku Commentary blog. He lives in Seattle with his wife and works as a reading teacher.
